The Rose Mojito

​

A refreshing cocktail made especially for her. 
Mom will will love our Rose Mojito.
To prepare, fill glasses with crushed ice and muddle in several stems of mint, slices of lime, and rose petals. Combine 1 ounces of rum, 1.5 ounces of rose water, and 1 ounce of fresh lime juice in a shaker and shake for at least 10 seconds. Strain the mixture into the glasses and top with club soda. Garnish with a rose petal.
(recipe per two glasses of love)

VALENTINE'S POPCORN (WHITE CHOCOLATE POPCORN)

You will absolutely "love" this simple white chocolate popcorn recipe
for Valentine's Day!

PREP: 10 MINS TOTAL: 10 MINS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 ounces white chocolate
  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • sprinkles
  • (optional) conversation hearts

DIRECTIONS:

Heat chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler until melted. 

Place the popcorn in a large bowl, and pour the melted chocolate over it. Then use a spoon to toss the popcorn gently until it is evenly coated with the chocolate. Spread the popcorn out evenly on a baking sheet covered with parchment, wax paper, or aluminum foil. Sprinkle evenly with the salt, then sprinkle with as many sprinkles and conversation hearts as you would like. (Looks like a lot of love will be sprinkled)

Let cool for 10 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened. Break up into small pieces then serve or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

That's a whole lotta love stored for later ; )

On the eve of Santa's arrival here's a recipe sure to make the traditional reading of  
"Twas The Night Before Christmas"
is even more fun!

Straight from the kitchen of Ms. Claus...


Starry Night Gingerbread Cocoa

Prep time

3 mins

Cook time

5 mins

Total time

8 mins


Serves: Makes 4 hot cocoas

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • whipped cream for topping
  •  silver candy sprinkles
  •  tiny gingerbread cookies


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, heat milk. While warming the milk, combine the cocoa powered, brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, allspice and ginger in a small bowl. Whisk into the milk until hot. Serve with whipped cream, sprinkle with cinnamon, silver candy sprinkles and top with a gingerbread man cookie
  2. For the naughty over 21 you can add some holiday spirits (wink)

What would a holiday be without a little cheer?  Let's hear it for our
 Autumn Apple Cider & Champagne Sparkling Sangria!
Ready?
 

Now drop everything on your to-do list today.  You're gonna want to taste test this before your company arrives on Thanksgiving. (Quality control people : )

This recipe has just a handful of ingredients and only two simple steps.

MAKE IT, SIP and REJOICE.

Ingredients:

3 honey crisp apples, sliced
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup halved dried figs (optional but it's yummy)
1 cup Cabernet Sauvignon (any fruity red wine would do)
3 cups apple cider
4 whole cinnamon sticks
1/2 tbsp whole cloves
1/8 tsp grated nutmeg

Garnish: Fruity champagne

Directions:
(The one - two "punch"... pun intended)

  1. In a tall pitcher, add all ingredients. Mix and refrigerate overnight.
  2. To serve, add sangria in a fancy-schmancy glass and top it with some bubbly champagne!

Now it doesn't get much easier than that... and trust us no one will notice the lumps in the turkey gravy after a few of these ; )

Not for the faint hearted...  just kidding it's delish


It's that time of the year when those cute little "ghouls" and "boo"ys turn into pumpkins, princesses and things that go bump in the night.

The night is filled with costumes and fun as you run to the door to hand out treats and fall into the fun of Halloween.
 

Well, we have a few tricks up our sleeve as well to get your goblins fed before the festivities begin.  
(yep we're saying forget ordering the the pizza and be that magical wizard of cuisine that will cause squeals of delight)

Treat your fam and friends with some quick, easy, scathingly brilliant Sand-Witches and our Monster Mash Sliders.

Take a peek into our cauldron and see what we have planned for you.

 

Sand-Witches

Now, these little delights can be chicken (appropriately named) salad sandwiches or whatever your have brewing in your head as far as a sandwich goes.  Tuna salad, little hoagies... whatever launches your broomstick.


Ingredients:
Croissants
Your choice of sandwich filling
Add some green (lettuce) for witches goo green
Party Store decor of little witches hats and legs
(found these at AC Moore but any little toothpick decoration will do
bats, spiders anything spooky : 0
Just stick them into the croissants as pictures and
"BOO"M


Monster Mash Meatballs

Now do the mash.. the Monster Mash Meatball Slider

Ingredients:
Meatballs
(make a big pot with sauce...don't forget the tomato sauce
gives that added pop of delish scary ) 
Trick: Buy them pre made and grab some Ragu  ; )
Green Olives for eyes
and those tiny slider buns
or regular size rolls for Frankenstein folks

* Now don't forget to make the little card and name your hallow's eve concoctions that's part of the fun!

A little celebration recipe from the CMS team...


So with the 4th upon us, we thought we would give our fave people a little refresher... so to speak.

Now what's better than a little sunshine in a jar to serve at your holiday bb-que? Well, that would be our "CMS Signature Sparkler Sangria".  
Oh,  remember you have to be over 21 to have a sip.
 

Okay... how to make this little sparkler:

1 lb fresh strawberries 

1 pint fresh blueberries or blackberries

1 bottle pinot grigio or riesling (if you're a little sweeter than others... we meant prefer sweeter)
and no I have not been sipping the sangria... why do you ask ; )

20 oz Sprite

splash of Triple Sec

Time to put this concoction together:

Wash the blueberries and strawberries and pat dry.

Chop the strawberries into large pieces. Freeze 1/3 of blueberries and the strawberry pieces uncovered on a flat cookie tray. (or not, they can just chill).

Pour the wine into a container and add the rest of the berries and a splash of Triple Sec.
Allow the sangria to marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours.
Before serving add the Sprite to the pitcher
and use the frozen berries for berry ice cubes in the glasses and in the pitcher.

Now, if you have been at CMS you know we love to serve it up in delightful mason jars with vintage straws.
You can even fill a big tub with ice or your wheel barrow (you have one right)
and have these little darlings ready to go with the lids on. 
Boom.

And just in case you took me seriously... Home Depot has the wheel barrow.
